Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Robert J. Dittoe, OD and Associates the leading provider of vision care products and services in New Lexington.

Dr. Robert J. Dittoe

Dr DittoeDr. Robert J. Dittoe completed his undergraduate work at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1980. Dr. Dittoe assisted with research studies of new contact lens materials while at OSU and received the Bausch and Lomb Award for Excellence in Contact Lenses in 1980. He has authored a number of articles for publication in nationally recognized contact lens journals.

Dr. Dittoe is a Past President of the Perry County Chapter of The American Cancer Society as well as being a Past Crusade Chairman. He is a Past President of the New Lexington Jaycees and past board member of the Perry County Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Dittoe is a member of the American Optometric Association, and the Ohio Optometric Association. He received the Key Person of the Year award from OOA in 2018. He is a member of the Ohio Amblyope Registry, the AOA InfantSee Program, and AOA Vision USA which donates examinations and glasses to those in need. He is a lifetime member of The Ohio State University Alumni Association and a member of The President’s Club. Dr. Dittoe is an affiliate doctor with TLC Laser Eye Center, located in Columbus, Ohio.

Dr. Monica Braun

Dr. Monica Braun was born and raised in Sandusky, Ohio. She is a Buckeye through-and-through, having attended The Ohio State University for 8 years. During that time, she obtained a Bachelor of Science in psychology with a minor in neuroscience. She then went on to achieve her Doctorate of Optometry in 2020. During optometry school, she focused on community service, as well as lobbied for the profession at a state and national level. She also served on the executive board in Private Practice Club, Epsilon Psi Epsilon, and the American Optometric Student Association.

Dr. Braun has experience in many clinical settings including: White River Junction, Vermont VA Medical Center, Ohio State Upper Arlington Outpatient Services, Vision Professionals of Worthington Hills, and Comprehensive Eye Care in Columbus, Ohio. She also trained in The Ohio State University’s specialty clinics including: contact lenses, low vision, pediatrics and binocular vision, advanced ocular care, student health, and primary care.

Dr. Braun is a member of the Ohio Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She welcomes patients of all ages and especially enjoys fitting specialty contact lenses, managing dry eye, and treating ocular disease including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. Her hobbies include traveling, hiking, cooking, and cheering on the Buckeyes at football games.

Dr. Farah Hamade

Dr. Farah Hamade obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan-Dearborn graduating with a bachelor of science in Biochemistry. She completed her doctorate degree at The Ohio State College of Optometry. She is the recipient of the Binocular Vision and Pediatrics Clinical Excellence Award. Her training includes specialty clinics at the Ohio State University, Salt Lake City VA Medical center, Eye Specialists of Ohio, Lower Lights Christian Health Center and Twin Valley Behavioral Health Center. Areas of interest include primary eye care, binocular vision, pediatrics, and ocular disease. During her time at OSU she was elected as her class treasurer, a founding member of the optometry branch of Women in White Coats, and a member of the American and Ohio Optometric Associations.

Outside of the clinic she enjoys spending time with her husband Ali, her cat Milo and hiking at national parks across the country.
